Does God Shave?

Have you ever wondered what God looks like?

Well, wonder no more. The answer is simple and it is given in the very first chapter of the Bible.

Genesis 1:26-27-----"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female created he them."

It is quite obvious that if man looks like God then God looks like man.

Man consists of three divisions: body, soul, and spirit.

Genesis 2:7 -----"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

1 Thessalonians 5:23-----"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

God also has a body, soul, and spirit.

Isaiah 42:1-----"Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Psalms 11:5 -----"The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth."

Leviticus 26:11-----"And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.

Jeremiah 6:8 -----"Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited."

Job 12:7-10----- "But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind."

Genesis 32:30------ "And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved."

John 4:24----- "God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

In the following genealogy, it shows that Adam was the son of God and we are His descendants.

Luke 3:38 -----"Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God."

Acts 17:29----- "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

Surely, it is clear that God is our Father and we are His children in the most literal sense.

Then we wonder: If man shaves, would not also the Father shave?

In the prophecy given in Isaiah 7:20 we learn:

"In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard."
